Our Information Services Division (ISD) is currently recruiting for a Network Administrator who is passionate about the work we do to join their team!

As the Network Administrator you will bring your expertise and proficiency of computer technology to provide technical support to our agency. In this role you will utilize your troubleshooting expertise by ensuring DOL network connectivity is always available and running properly. Using your specialized experience, you will be responsible for the design and control of all LAN and WAN hardware and software configurations for all agency switches, routers, firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto), traffic load balancers, wireless deployments, and network security equipment (ISE, IPS/IDS), just to name a few. In this position you will evaluate overall LAN and WAN performance against industry standards. Your effective communication will be essential presenting and coordinating with business partners about the impacts the network has affecting agency field licensing offices across the state.

Some of what you will do:

  • Build and maintain the day-to-day operation of computer networks that the agency’s employees and customers rely on. These networks typically include an intranet, extranet, wireless, local area networks (LAN), and wide area networks (WAN).
  • Provide research, analysis, advice, and recommendations of possible solutions regarding network technology options to help meet and/or exceed the customers’ business project requirements.
  • Develop, plan, and design network modifications and enhancements. This includes equipment renewals and network hardware deployments, and network software configurations.
  • Install hardware, configure firewalls, set up virtual private networks (VPN), manage ISE servers, wireless controllers, and implement IDS/IPS devices.
  • Coordinate installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and fine tuning of the LAN/WAN network including all hardware, software, security, and network components.

What you will bring:

  • Nine (9) years combined education and relevant experience in, Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience must include:
  • Certification(s) in the network field (e.g., CCNA).
  • Five (5) years of experience analyzing, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, or telecommunications or network infrastructure equipment or providing customer or technical support in information technology.
  • Five (5) years of experience with: Intrusion Detection and Prevention, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, VPN, Load Balancing, 3DNS, Local and Statewide Area Networking, Network Management/Monitoring Systems, Network Performance Analysis Systems, Wireless, and IP Telephony Systems.
  • Five (5) years of experience with the design, configuration, and deployment of WAN/LAN network equipment.
  • Five (5) year of experience of troubleshooting WAN/LAN network.

Complete knowledge of IP addressing and TCP/IP protocols. This should include knowledge of IPv6 addressing.

Education to experience equivalency:

Associate’s degree = 2 years | Bachelor’s degree = 4 years | Master’s degree = 5 years

Education may not be used in lieu of all experience

Pay: $76,248.00 – $100,032.00 per year
