Qualifications

  • Relevant education and 5-years experience in computer network, satellite TV, cable TV, telephone, or electrical installation work
  • Skilled in conduit/wirepath installation; Cat5e/Cat6, coaxial, and fiber termination; network equipment installation and configuration; and low-voltage power connections
  • Clean driving and safety record, personal and professional references
  • Ability to work independently and arrive at scheduled appointments on time
  • BICSI, A+ or ITS certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Report to work on time, professionally dressed and ready for assignment to a project
  • Following provided instructions, install conduit/wirepath inside and outside buildings and configure equipment to be installed
  • Run Cat5, coaxial, and fiber optic cable through conduit/wirepath, terminate cabling
  • Mount network equipment in equipment racks and elsewhere inside and outside buildings
  • Verify work by testing circuits and equipment, addressing or escalating problems found
  • Document work by labeling cabling and equipment, and recording configurations
  • Build customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns, and answering questions.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations, and by keeping work areas clean and organized.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Stand; walk; sit; bend; stoop; kneel; climb; pull; push; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights over 35 feet, climb up to 60 steps while carrying equipment
  • Lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can become heavy or high depending on the equipment being used at the particular work site.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
