We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage and Structured Cabling Installers and Technicians, Foreman to join our team. In this role you will need to be familiar with the installation, and commissioning of structured cabling systems in commercial buildings and have at least journeyman level installation and troubleshooting experience.
Responsibilities:
- Installation, termination, test, label and document horizontal, backbone and other low voltage systems cabling (CAT6, fiber optic) in medium and large commercial buildings.
- Dress & route cable into telecom closets, racks, modular furniture & other work area outlets.
- Build out telecom & equipment rooms.
- Firestop various types of cable penetrations.
- Test, troubleshoot, & document test results for cabling.
- Responsible for the execution of the installation project plan provided including equipment delivery, trouble shooting, commissioning as well as interface with other trades to successfully complete projects while exceeding customer’s expectations.
- Communicate and effectively interact with other contractors and building owners.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and operational product manuals.
- Effectively communicate project status to supervisors and management.
- Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.
Foreman Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide onsite daily direction to Structured Cabling installation team in medium and large commercial building construction projects.
- Layout and provide direction to HCI installers on site as well as coordinate and communicate with the Project Manager to efficiently complete the project on time and on budget.
- Resolve field problems through research of multiple alternatives.
- Coordinate the project activities with other trades at the work locations to optimize installation time.
- Identify out of scope requests by the contractor or customer and notify management of pending changes.
- Identify and assist with suggested solutions for an efficient installation to complete scope.
- Assist customers on site with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Basic Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Applicants must meet requirements in relation to background and driving record.
- Must be proficient in the use and application of industry related equipment including MS Office.
- Must have excellent communications skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 75lbs.
