The OSP/ISP Inspector must have a great deal of drive, motivation, discipline, confidence, and the ability to work independently. You must be deadline-oriented with strong assessment and planning skills along with knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, OSHA safety standards, right of way, and permit acquisition. Well-versed in OSP/ISP industry standards and adheres to project-specific, local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Proficient with as-built schematics, dry utility plans, plats, and diagrams.
Responsibilities:
Field Assignments/Procedures:
- Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Prepare and update site status reports, databases, and project forecast reports.
- Field survey and engineering of proposed fiber route, collecting data necessary to complete pole attachment applications, and/or buried installation applications.
- Responsible for fiber network design characteristics to meet client requirements, including but not limited to fiber assignments, splice placement, address validation, logical schematics, and fiber optic component assessment.
- Aerial and underground make-ready surveys; outside/inside plant route selection and verification.
- Submit permits and follow up on any jurisdictional and other agency permits.
- Identify essential materials and tools to carry out the scope of work.
- Perform and/or supervise a feasibility walk to determine whether the proposed route may be properly constructed according to quality and technical standards.
- Assist in developing new business opportunities with clients.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Provide input and assistance in investigating and creating new techniques and methods that may increase the Company’s efficiency.
- Incorporate cutting-edge applications to arrive at the desired result on projects.
- Alert supervisor of any issues that may affect client relations. Provide recommendations for solutions.
- When opportunities arise, assist with the development of new business opportunities with clients.
- Readiness to rotate between projects and clients to help the organization meet deliverables and goals.
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience in Outside and Inside plant engineering, design, planning, maintenance, and installation.
- Previous project planning, scheduling, and management experience desired.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree, technical college diploma, or equivalent years of experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
- Able to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow supervision.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office 365 suite.
- Database, customer tracking systems experience a plus.
- Must be comfortable reviewing engineering drawings.
- Extensive experience with SiteTracker or similar project management software.
- Thorough understanding of TIA and ISO standards.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to sites and work remotely.
- Driving record must meet Advantage Engineers insurance standards and must maintain a valid state Driver’s License.
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 desired.
- CPR/First Aid Certification desired.
- OSHA PPE Certification a plus.
- BICSI Certification a plus.
- Fiber Splicing Certification a plus.
- Roadside Worker Safety Certification a plus.
