Job Summary:
The Network Engineer Fiber OSP Sr is responsible for network planning and engineering of all Shentel broadband networks to include copper and fiber optic networks Also responsible for project management of major engineering initiatives as well as generating detailed engineering documentation to support the installation, configuration, and ongoing operations of the network.

Qualification Requirements:
a. Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering-related field preferred. Other candidates with a strong technical background and substantial industry or military experience will be considered. High school diploma or equivalent required.

b. Hold a valid government issued drivers license

c. Experience Level:
a. 7 or more years of experience in the telecommunications industry is required

b. 5 or more years of experience in engineering or technical operations role

c. Budgeting and financial analysis

d. BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)

e. Strong project management experience

f. Fiber engineering or construction background

d. Skill Requirements:
a. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills

b. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

c. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously

e. Knowledge of:
a. Access technologies (HFC, RFOG, PON)

b. In-depth knowledge and strong outside plant to include copper, fiber, and coax fiber networks

c. Microsoft Excel, CAD, Visio, Mapcom, or other network mapping and design tools

d. Aerial-Make Ready and ROW Permitting
