Rogers is seeking a Project Manager responsible for delivering Wireless Projects within the Access Network team Nationally. Reporting to the Manager of Real Estate and Municipal Affairs, the primary focus of this position is to successfully manage the acqusition and execution of a large variety of Network and Business initiatives on the Rogers Access Network. Wireless projects will include New Site builds (macros, rooftops), In-Building DAS systems and Small cells.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor the progress of multiple, large scale In-building projects, small cells and new site macros.(10 to 1,000 antennae).
- Plan and facilitate cross-functional team meetings to ensure that all project deliverables and critical dates are met.
- Drive projects through design, development, construction, testing and implementation stages.
- Secure the necessary approvals from the impacted departments for the project scope, project plan and work breakdown structure.
- Supporting the development of Business Cases, Commitment Authorizations, and Business Requirements for Senior Leadership approval.
- Partner with functional teams i.e.: Planning, Engineering,Operations groups to ensure that all process development, testing, communication, job-aids, training , documentation, etc. are delivered prior to launch, as well as, throughout construction, testing and implementation.
- Provide management with regular project status updates, and escalate issues where appropriate to ensure that all critical dates are met.
- Accountable for New Site LAO portfolio and bringing Sites to a RTB status
- Assign and manage internal/external Site Acquisition Specialists, Municipal Specialists, and all required Consultants/Contractors
- Track and manage milestone dates, ensuring projects are continuously moving forward with tasks completed in a timely fashion
- Develop and implement action plans to clear issues that may be preventing a project from progressing
- Responsible for the management and approval of financial items
- Ensure adequate communications between all Stakeholders
- Generate reports for Stakeholder/Management review
- Facilitate meetings and/or conference calls as needed
- Conduct and document post-implementation reviews.
Skills/Experience Required
- Well versed in project management concepts and applications.
- 3-5 years Project Management experience withFiberand/or structured cablingin-building projects, small cells, and new site macros.(10 to 1,000 antennae)..
- Highly motivated and very proactive individual.
- Gathers relevant information quickly, makes timely decisions and responds to challenges decisively.
- Strategic-thinker, with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions.
- Strong collaborative relationship management skills with a variety of stakeholders including landlords, independent telecommunications consultants, tenants, contractors, building managers, etc.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, decision-making and dispute resolution skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skill.
- Working knowledge of Project management tools such as MS Office/Project.
- PMP, RCDDcertification(s), RF, Fiberand/or structured cabling experiencea definite asset
- Post-secondary education in business or related discipline preferred.
