Wireless Internet Installation Technician

2-3 days/week, potentially expanding to full time
Full Job Description:

New England Wireless is a community based, locally-owned company looking for a wireless internet installation technician in the Northeast Kingdom, VT. We are seeking a reliable contractor with a valid driver’s license willing to work independently outdoors to install, repair, and test telecommunications equipment.

We offer specialized training, however, prospective candidates should already be familiar with personal computing equipment, home wireless networking, basic carpentry and construction, and have good customer service skills.

This is a long-term, contractor position with flexible scheduling
Salary $25 – $40 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Mounting & aligning antenna systems, installing and connecting cable, and setting up routers and computers on customer premises
• Maintaining and ensuring that wireless Internet equipment functions properly
• Working outside in heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow.
• Climbing ladders & working on roof tops, sometime two to three stories
• Interacting with customers in person.
• Flexible scheduling hours between 8 AM to 6 PM
• Following OSHA & related company policies at all times

• Depending on experience, responsibilities could include working with equipment on towers

Qualifications

• Comfortable with personal computers (PC & Macs), Networking, Routers, and Ethernet Wiring.
• Light home construction experience. (Comfortable with drills, staples, and wiring) o Ability to mount equipment without damaging walls or roofs & safely drill holes through walls. o Ability to attach cabling to different surfaces (wood, plastic, metal).

• Clear, professional, and courteous communication with management and customers.
• Able to accept and remember on-the-job training.
• Comfortable working independently in the field

• Tower climbing experience optional, but highly valued

Requirements:

• Physically fit (ability to handle ladders up to 30 ft, lift 75 lbs, and lift & carry 50 lbs for extended periods)
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable personal truck
• Clean driving record
