This is a senior individual contributor technologist role to provide leadership in the planning, designing, and managing of telecom technologies in support of specific business needs and ensuring its integration and inter-operability with government technology transformation requirements. The role will provide technology leadership for the sourcing of more than $100 million of annual spend aggregated across multiple provincial public Crown corporations and health authorities.
This is a senior role requiring both a detailed knowledge of telecom technology, as well as the business acumen to understand how to effectively apply the technology to create value. The position entails consolidating telecom requirements across multiple stakeholder organizations, analyzing the best technical solutions to meet those needs, gaining executive consensus on a strategy and providing technical and business analysis to sourcing options.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Degree in telecom, engineering, computer science or a related field AND a minimum of five years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience be considered.
- Telecom industry experience (i.e., requirements gathering, network architecture, and systems engineering for voice, cellular and LAN/WLAN/WAN services).
- Experience architecting telecom solutions to meet specific business needs – for voice, cellular and LAN/WLAN/WAN data services.
- Experience writing and executing telecom business plans.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and consultation. Preference be given to applicants with experience in the context of multi-party project that requires building trust with multiple and diverse stakeholders and managing influence.
