Overview:
The Business Operations Analyst is a technical, problem-solving resource and liaison with operational teams throughout the business serving on the Asset Movement team within Securian Financial Services (Individual Solutions).

This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of asset movement, cashiering, transfers, managed investments, and financial plans workflow and provides work direction to all members of the Asset Movement team. This position continuously assesses and updates audits or associated asset movement processes to ensure quality, efficiency and alignment with business and customer experience objectives.

This position serves as a training resource for the team when onboarding new associates, along with training existing associates on complex daily tasks. This position will respond to complex service inquiries and resolves complex issues independently or along with other areas of the business.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

Reviews and resolves escalated complex issues communicated from career advisors or other areas of the business by providing research and a resolution to the issue by collaborating with neighboring teams and if applicable outside vendors. This could include communicating via email or phone.

Analyzes Anti-Money Laundering warnings on all Asset Movement transactions to ensure they comply with our internal compliance guidelines and policies.

Analyzes all third-party Asset Movement transactions for sound judgment.

Provides work direction to associates that supports meeting service standards and coordinating resources to meet volume needs.

Advises Business Operations Sr. Rep and/or Business Specialists on complex processes and directs the communication of process changes to the team.

Facilitates initial and ongoing training and quality review for Business Operations Sr Reps and/or Business Operations Specialists to ensure associates receive complete and sufficient training, including full team and 1-on-1 training.

Provides on-going coaching to associates on how to effectively resolve internal processing errors.

Facilitates production reporting for Business Operations Sr Reps and/or Business Operations Specialists.

In a backup/support capacity, complete processing responsibilities that include approval of asset movement transactions on our custodian platform (Pershing) and our investment platform (Envestnet).

Maintains an audit system that ensures quality and consistent service is delivered by all team members.

Responsible for the maintenance and updating of training manuals, internal procedures, and electronic library articles.

Responsible for printing and pulling asset movement and cashiering documents for on-going CEO Certification, KPMG and FINRA audits.

Act as subject matter expert in partnership with leader on team or department projects.

Provides support to the team’s workflow and supervisory responsibilities as volumes or capacity require.

Identify and implement process efficiencies that impact the team.
Qualifications:
-
Must have the Series 7 license and be able to obtain the Series 24 license within 6 months of hire.

Advanced understanding of all asset movement transactions to perform audits and assess accuracy and timeliness of transactions.

Finance/investment knowledge and analytical skills to effectively resolve complex service issues and complaints with the representatives, clients, and business partners.

Problem solving skills and knowledge required to act as registered principal for the firm in weighing risk of transactions, corrections and indemnifying other firms (assuming all risk on particular transactions).

Negotiation, persuasion, communication and diplomacy skills to handle the most difficult situations with Managing Partners, representatives, customers, departments within the Home Office and regulators.

The ability to make independent decisions and prioritize competing deadlines to ensure compliance with SEC and FINRA regulatory guidelines.

Leadership skills to manage associates while handling multiple functions.
Preferred Qualifications:

Securian experience.

Experience with Securian Financial Services operations workflow, processes, and procedures.

Physical Job Requirements:

Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.

Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse, and computer for up to 7 hours per day.

Ability to utilize phone for approximately 1 hour per day.
