Telecommunications Technician

Who you are:

• State of CT T-2, T1, C-6, or C-5 licensed Technician. We are a State of CT Apprenticeship Program registered employer.
• You can troubleshoot POTS and T1 Pri lines and terminate copper cable 4pr to 200pr. Trace and ID wiring.
• You are knowledgeable with paging systems.
• Certified with the NEC SV9100 & SV2100 PBX/VoIP and Univerge Blue VoIP systems a plus.
• Knowledgeable with the Sangoma (Star2Star) VoIP system.
• You are knowledgeable with these NEC legacy systems: NEC iSeries 704I, 384i, 124i, IPK2, Aspire, UX5000, SV8100, NEC 2000 IVS & 2400 PBX systems.

Responsibilities:

• Install and service telecom equipment.
• Provide hands-on assistance and troubleshoot all customer-related phone equipment failures.
• Perform MAC, service, and installation jobs, including voice and data cabling.
• Take part in the “on-call” schedule.
• Provide training and technical expertise on the usage of phone/voice mail equipment and related software.
• Do site visits for new telecommunication systems and MAC installations when applicable.
• Effective use of dispatch FSU, keeping the team updated on daily progress.
• Assist and support your fellow technicians remotely and in the field.
• Provide management with potential sales opportunities from existing and new customers.
• Effectively maintain proper inventory levels to service customers effectively and assist in the annual inventory process.
• Responsible for maintaining in good working order your assigned company vehicle, obeying all traffic, parking, and motor vehicle regulations.
• Responsible for maintaining your assigned cell phone, laptop, and company-provided test equipment and tools in good working order.
• Maintain and exhibit a positive attitude as a team player and present a professional image.
