IT Principal Associate

A leading international firm in Birmingham with one of the largest sector-focused commercial, IT and outsourcing contracts teams is looking for an experienced IT lawyer to join their specialist team acting for a range of clients from household name brands as well as many mid and large sized businesses advising on both routine contracts and strategically important projects.

The role will be extremely varied and involve working on a wide range of matters from small SaaS agreements providing ancillary services like satisfaction surveys to app development agreements to business-critical ERP software licences and implementations, hosting agreements and data/connectivity agreements.

The team are known for their enthusiastic and positive approach to supporting clients to develop the contracts they need to build and secure their businesses. The ideal candidate will be a like minded, team-spirited lawyer who wants to work as part of a business and high functioning team.

Given the size and structure of the team, the successful candidate will be exposed to a broad range of IT contracts across many sectors including automotive, aerospace, retail, food and drink, life sciences, financial services, healthcare, and telecoms. This means opportunities to undertake a diverse and interesting blend of work and to learn and develop. The team has its own clients and business plan as well as supporting other teams in the firm.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate substantial practical experience of drafting and advising on IT contracts to support businesses on both turnkey projects and day-to-day business.

This role would suit a 6+ PQE hard working, commercially minded and technically IT specialist lawyer who is ambitious and keen to progress. At this level, the candidate will need to demonstrate a track record of development and maintaining client relationships and a keen interest in business development.
