Job Detail

Our client in Ottawa is looking for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to take the lead on highly complex designs for products with bleeding edge technology in the telecom industry.

Description

The successful candidate will be a lead/prime Hardware Design Engineer, they will be supporting two major designs for high speed complex circuits with advanced technology involving 32 layers, 1500W+, 56G PAM4 SerDes, 400G plugs etc. There are new chip sets from Broadcom and AMD. There will be a lot of characterization of 56G links, power characterization, advanced clocking and test characterization. The successful candidate will need to have advanced hardware design and testing experience acting as a lead or prime on major designs.

Top Skills Details

• Hardware Design experience with experience leading or being a prime on major designs
• Experience with high-speed digital circuit design (data rates of 10GB/s+)
• Full cycle hardware development experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with Ethernet and OTN technologies (up to 400Gb/s) and high-speed SerDes.
• Demonstrated use of Schematic Capture and Layout tools, ideally Cadence design tools
• Extensive experience in with test equipment and high-speed measurements including high-speed SerDes technologies.
• Expertise in Board level simulation and circuit simulation methodology is desired

Additional Information

Work environment: Mix of on-site and remote work in Ottawa, 40 hour work week
