This is a hybrid position.Position OverviewThe Drafter is responsible for creating fiber designs that are efficient and deliver solutions to the customer for OSP or ISP construction. The successful candidate will also work on designs and drafting needs as they arise.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesigning, researching, and prototyping new products including layouts for OSP and Fiber designCollaborating with design and production teams on projects along with relationship-building skillsGeneration of bills of materials, splice sheets, and other supporting documentation for designReview completed design for errors and efficiency and deliver F1 and F2 designs for projectsIdentify solutions to improve production efficiencyDevelop ISP patch panel diagrams/ cable rack layoutsEnsure design specifications are maintainedAdhere to appropriate quality standards set out in the design requirementsModifying existing designs or products to improve their performance or integrating new technologyRequirementsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsAccurate and strong attention to detail and strong work ethic and integrityCompetence in design methodology, process, and metricsFlexibility to work shift differential hours and strong organizational skillsAbility to write lisp routine and other CAD assistance program a plusGoogle suite and Microsoft excel preferred1 yr+ ArcGIS/ESRI Products work experience required (outside of school)In-depth knowledge of FTTH/Telecom industry design principles strongly preferredAbility to multitask and manage time effectivelyExcellent Team player and teamwork skillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, GIS, product design, or certification in draftingPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMay experience long hours of standing and movingMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
