This is a hybrid position – working in the Austin, TX office 2 days a week and 3 days remote.
LCRA has an exciting opportunity and is looking for a Telecommunication and Infrastructure Planner to join our team. As a part of LCRA’s Transmission Planning department, your expertise will contribute to project initiatives in an organization that strives to enhance the quality of life of the Texans we serve. You are someone who enjoys collaborating with diverse teams, organizing information and making project recommendations for LCRA’ s Transmission Capital Plan. You will be responsible for developing a thorough, long-range, data-driven plan in support of telecommunications, facilities and software needs for the Transmission business unit. We are a skilled and high-functioning team that pursues the most effective ways to support our organization, plan projects, improve processes, protect, and develop our resources, and work collaboratively with others both internal and external to LCRA. Our ideal candidate for this position will have a solid technical knowledge of telecom infrastructure and telecom networks, along with duties of a project coordinator. Job Duties:
Coordinates interdisciplinary technical teams through business case analysis and the development of project scopes and cost estimates.
Captures and analyzes current and evolving telecom, facility and software upgrade requirements from internal and external stakeholders, stays up to date with telecommunication technologies, solutions and regulations.
Collects, organizes and analyzes engineering metrics for telecommunications systems and uses insights from the analysis to develop informed, comprehensive technical asset plans to improve business performance in the medium and longer term.
Recommends asset condition based and criteria driven capital projects to management and seeks approval from external stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
Six or more years of experience in planning for telecommunications/transport networks or related experience. A degree(s) in engineering, electrical power theory, network systems, telecommunications or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
