$1,500 SIGN-ON BONUS!!
Remove, replace and rework a wide variety of electronic components on customer telecom PCB’s including RoHS in a production environment for the Repair Technician Team following IPC and ISO type standards. PCB’s worked will be a wide variety of sizes and densities incorporating an extensive collection of through-hole, surface mount and BGA components to be soldered, de-soldered or re-balled requiring an attention to detail and the knowledge of correct component identification and installation. In addition to performing repairs a steady flow of visual inspections will need to be performed for inbound receiving of customer equipment.
Essential Functions
1. Perform visual inspections on inbound receiving of customer equipment:
- Follow established ESD guidelines
- Follow established procedures.
- With an attention to detail visually and mechanically inspect equipment for damaged or missing hardware or electronics/components.
- Pass/Fail and document equipment using company software.
- Physically and accurately move equipment to designated racks/shelves/container locations in company software according to established procedures.
2. Apply Supplemental Work Instructions to designated equipment:
- Follow established ESD guidelines.
- Review established work lists to determine which equipment to rework
- Review work instruction in company software.
- Apply rework as indicated
- Update company software.
- Physically and accurately move equipment to designated racks/shelves/container locations in company software according to established procedures.
3. Rework equipment for the Failure Isolation Team:
- Follow established ESD guidelines.
- Follow established procedures.
- Determine which equipment to rework according to first in first out process as staged by the FI Tech.
- Review in the company software, the technician’s instructions.
- Follow technician’s instructions with an eye for detail by removing, replacing, reflowing or re-balling components, etc. May require some disassembly and re-assembly.
- Repair traces and lands on PCB’s as needed.
- Use all available equipment to perform job such as solder, de-solder, hot-air, BGA rework stations, X-Ray, microscope, visual aids, hand tools, etc.
- Update company software according to established procedures.
4. Rework or build electronic assemblies by performing the following functions:
- Follow established ESD guidelines.
- Follow documented procedures to build electronic assemblies for stock room.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
· 4 years of work experience as a Rework Technician performing Lead and Lead-Free soldering. Experience as a Rework Technician in a telecommunications repair environment is a plus.
· Current IPC J-Std-001, IPC-A-610 or similar certification is desired
· Experience working with technical equipment, part numbers, serial numbers, and other unique equipment identifiers is required.
· Ability to regularly navigate computer software programs and work with e-mail is required.
· Ability to read and visually identify small serial numbers, part numbers, and other product identifiers is required.
· Experience with component identification and orientation on PCB is required.
· Exceptional experience in the use of solder, de-solder and hot-air stations is required.
· Experience using BGA Rework Stations to replace BGA IC Chips is required. Replacing small BGA chips by use of a hot-air station is a plus.
· Experience using X-Ray equipment for visual inspections is required.
· Ability to learn to use new equipment is required.
· Repetitive mechanical disassembly and re-assembly of customer units using hand tools is required.
· Ability to navigate to, read and follow all TL/ISO processes that pertain to the scope of the position is required.
· Ability to multi-task is required.
· Ability to work effectively with co-workers and business associates inside and outside the company.
· Must be available when needed for overtime.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $19.00 per hour
