Telecom Support Specialist Job Detail

CommuniCare Family of Companies is recruiting an experienced IT professional to assist with maintaining and resolving technical problems for established telephony networks. This position will be based out of our home office in the Blue Ash section of Cincinnati, OH with the ability to work liberally from home. Some travel to facilities, mostly day trips, will be required.

Starting salary: $47k – $50k

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

The qualified candidate will have working knowledge of the following:

  • Microsoft applications
  • IP infrastructure
  • Active Directory
  • Networking concepts including but not limited to: DHCP, DNS, VLANS, Routing Protocolsת and QOS.
  • VOIP systems such as Mitel Connect, Cisco Unified Communications Manager or other PBX systems.
  • SIP, POTS, PRIs troubleshooting
  • Navigating cisco switches routers
  • Wireless networks and basic troubleshooting of them.

Qualified candidates will also have the following skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good customer service skills and the ability to talk to end users in a patient understanding manner
  • Ability to work well on their own as well as on a team.
  • Good organizational skills and documentation of work.
  • The ability to train end users on how to do basic tasks within our telephony systems

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting end users with issues related to their desk phones, soft phones and voicemail
  • Assist with configurations of call routing within phone systems
  • Assisting with implementing software and hardware upgrades pertaining to our facility phone systems
  • Communicate with vendors when repair tickets are needed for both Telco and Hardware providers.
  • Help facilitate orders of replacement equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality with information being processed, stored, or accessed in the telephony network
  • Document problems and resolutions for future reference
  • Travel expected (90% day trips)
  • Participate in our on-call rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned
