Overview:


This is a hybrid role – minimum 2 days per week in the Malvern, PA office.
The Manager of Telecom is responsible for analyzing, maintaining, supporting, and evaluating CubeSmart’s telecommunications system and equipment. The Telecom Manager is involved in all aspects of the telecommunications life cycle, such as opportunity analysis, contract evaluation, service analysis, implementation, billing, cost analysis, and budgeting. This role also assists in configuration, testing, performance, and support.

Responsibilities:


Responsibilities include:

  • Independently manages all telecommunications vendor-related relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction and service uptime.
  • Manages relationship with Telecom Expense Management provider to ensure billing accuracy and timely payment to providers.
  • Reviews and analyzes corporate and store telecommunications billing to ensure that billing complies with established contracts; reports and resolves discrepancies.
  • Perform and review monthly/quarterly/annual cost analyses of all telecommunication billing, including voice (LEC/CLEC/Local/Long distance/toll-free) data (broadband, DSL, T1, etc.) and system hardware.
  • Creates and manages telecommunications budgets and provides exception reports as required.
  • Provides periodic ad hoc reporting requested by management and selects end-users to support and explain telecommunication expenditures.
  • Maintains, reviews, and negotiates ongoing contracts with preferred providers, ensuring optimal pricing.
  • Manages projects related to installing, maintaining, and upgrading telecommunications equipment and services.
  • Maintains open dialogue with other groups within IT to ensure optimal connectivity and system security.
  • Produces and maintains documentation for telecommunications processes and procedures.
  • Trains first-level support on repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Produces training aids for internal support and end-users as needed.
  • Serves as an escalation point for all telecommunications-related issues.

Qualifications:


Education and Experience

Minimum Required Qualifications (including Programs/systems experience)

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or related five-plus years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with telecommunication vendors and internal customers.
  • Organized, capable of managing multiple ongoing projects, and able to coordinate with various parties, including internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • Understanding of LEC and CLEC billing.
  • Demonstrated cost savings in past positions.
  • Experience with telecom expense management services such as Advantix.
  • Management experience.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role is responsible for the direct supervision of one or more teammates.
