JOB SUMMARY
High-level description of the purpose of the job
The Junior Telecommunications Specialist will perform the on-going maintenance activities required for the Dynacare’s large and complex server, telephony and network infrastructure. He/She will provide the required infrastructure support services within the expected SLAs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
List of critical duties that the incumbent is expected to perform
- Perform equipment installations (Servers, Switches, and routers) and relocation of equipment as required
- Provide second level technical support of existing network and telephony locally and remotely. This includes on-call status and occasional travel to remote locations
- Responsible for Service Desk (receiving and coordinating in-house inquiries), as well as problem resolution and fulfillment of service requests regarding Information Systems infrastructure. This includes contacting appropriate service personnel at Dynacare and/or vendors and follow-up as required for complete and timely resolution
- Log calls and troubleshoot hardware and/or software with contract vendors
- Work closely with senior network management to propose improvements to the network infrastructure and executes various projects to improve IT service availability
- Responsible for troubleshooting, configuration, administration and set up of the network and telephony related incidents, problems and proactive alert monitoring and resolution
- Manage and maintain network documentation for all network/telecom devices and applications
