OSP Field Engineer/Staker

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

Byers Engineering Company is looking for a qualified OSP Field Engineer to work out of the Gastonia, NC office and travel the east coast. Candidate must be able to work outdoors in various temperatures, walk minimum six miles daily, record accurate field data, and read construction drawings. Must have strong aerial background. Candidate must also be willing to travel up to 100% of the time. Typical work week is Monday – Friday with the ability to work weekends if so desired. REQUIREMENTS:

· 2 years’ minimum experience in OSP field engineering

· Reliable transportation

· Willing to travel up to 100% of time

· Knowledge in both aerial and buried placement

· Ability to read construction drawings and dictate best method of placement

· Knowledge of make ready and NESC standards for aerial placement

· Knowledge of method of placement of buried plant

· Ability to effectively communicate with client and supervisor

COMPENSATION:

· $20 per hour + Unit Pay

· Reimbursable mileage to and while on the job site based on IRS standard rate

· Per Diem if needed
