Position Details
Tilson has an exciting new leadership opportunity overseeing our Tilson Micro Trenching teams based in Las Vegas. The ideal candidate for this role has demonstrated experience with new market standup and large-scale construction. This role will oversee the development of our internal Micro Trenching crews with an emphasis on Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and other service offerings.
The OSP Director of Micro Trenching plays a vital role in Tilson’s Outside Plant leadership team, overseeing Tilson’s Nevada Micro Trenching efforts. Experience in a high growth environment and being motivated by the opportunity to build a team with over 100 employees is a must. This position will be directly responsible for leading Field Operations Managers and Field Construction Managers. This position requires the ideal candidate to live in or relocate to Las Vegas. Key areas of focus include:

Coaching and mentoring leaders and building high functioning teams.

Supporting daily operations and project execution.

Financial management and planning at the divisional and large program level.

Visionary management of business process and systems evolution.

Culture and safety standard bearer for Tilson.
Responsibilities:
-
Take safety leadership for zero workplace injuries with assistance from a safety director peer.

Set and drive the safety culture to ensure we are meeting all safety requirements.

Hire, lead, coach and develop the Micro Trenching (MT) construction team to ensure our crews are structured to meet safety and production expectations.

Drive to meet our daily/weekly/monthly production targets.

Manage our internal crew KPI’s to ensure we are maintaining or improving on our cost per foot metrics.

Develop construction best practices methods and procedures.
Qualifications:
-
Substantial team leadership experience and strong interest in developing leaders.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in leading Micro Trenching (MT) teams.

Comfort with office tools & automation- Tilson has a modern, paperless, cloud based system environment, and comfort learning and using systems are a must.

Substantial experience understanding, leading and managing OSP construction safety.

5 years’ minimum experience with managing costs around internal MT crews.

Strong writing and communication skills.
