Full Job Description

Position Title: Senior Telecommunication Technician

Salary Range: $50,000-55,000

Job Responsibilities:

Senior Telecommunication Technician will be responsible for operation and implementation of the Independent State Agency’s Telecommunication infrastructure. The Senior Telecommunication Technician will also be responsible in assisting employees, vendors and agency partners in resolving Telecommunication related issues.

  • Perform installation and upgrades of Telecommunication equipment;
  • Configure, maintain, and manage existing and new Telecommunication equipment;
  • Manage and coordinate Telecommunication deployment and installation projects including cabling;
  • Ensure implementation policy and procedures are followed;
  • Manage requests using a ticketing system;
  • Manage and coordinate vendors for connectivity and new office projects;
  • Keep pace with technological advancement in order to identify new equipment and applications that would be advantageous for the agency to adopt;
  • Perform move, add, change and delete functions on Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM);
  • Perform move, add, change and delete functions for voicemails;
  • Troubleshoot Telecommunication and fax communication issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Information Technology;
  • 3+ years of previous experience with Telecommunication products and applications;
  • 3+ years of previous experience with Network and Telecommunication wiring such as Ethernet, Coax and telephone wire;
  • Familiar with Microsoft application such as Word, Excel, Power point;
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new technologies;
  • Possesses knowledge of best practices for deployment and operations of Telecommunication devices;
  • Ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues between Telecommunication and network devices;
  • Communicates clearly and effectively;
  • Manages time efficiently and multi-tasks effectively;
  • Exceptional customer service skills;
  • Work calmly and methodically under pressure and against tight deadlines;
  • Able to work independently with little or no supervision;
  • Able to train and supervise other team members;
  • Able to travel throughout New York State.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification from Cisco, CompTIA;
  • Familiar Cisco CUCM;
  • Familiar with the Telecommunication devices, such as Cisco phones, video endpoints.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
