Florida Orthopaedic Institute
REMOTE – Must reside in Tampa Bay Area
Under the general supervision of the Director or Manager of Information Technology, the Network Engineer works collaboratively with the Information Technology Services team and shares responsibility for the selection, design, architecture, installation, configuration, system management and operations of all local and wide area network hardware and software for the Florida Orthopaedic Institute (FOI) and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (FOISC). Performs other related duties as assigned to support an effective and thorough IT service program for FOIs customers.
- Implement, manage, monitor and troubleshoot the LAN, WAN, wireless and communications infrastructure including security
- Implement, manage, monitor and troubleshoot the various network technologies: firewalls, routers, switches, wired and wireless, load balancers, proxy servers, network management, and security technologies.
- Implement, manage, monitor and troubleshoot the various telecommunications systems: VOIP telephony, remote worker technology, VPN, internet and other business communications
- Secure, monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels
- Plan, document and perform regular backups and disaster recovery
- Provide and maintain documentation, policies and procedures related to areas of responsibility and ensure regulatory and legal compliance
- Resolve technology problems and provide second level technical support for customers and other IT staff
- Work with leaders, team and vendors in the research, planning and implementation of new computing technologies
- Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to work with local and wide area networks, wired and wireless systems, telecommunications, etc.
- Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field. Prefer one or more technology certifications.
- 5 years of experience implementing, managing and maintaining multi-location business computing environments. Prefer healthcare environment experience.
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented work ethic
- Willingness to work flexible / odd hours at times, based on needs
- Communication Skills: Ability to write reports, peer correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of leaders, staff and peers.

Technical Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows for servers and pcs, Active Directory, DHCP and DNS services
- Extensive knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architecture, Wireless, and IP telephony.
- Strong working knowledge of configuring and maintaining some or all of these technologies: firewalls, routers, switches, wired and wireless, load balancers, proxy servers, network management, and security technologies.
- Strong working knowledge of telecommunications systems: VOIP telephony, remote worker technology, VPN, internet and other business communications
- Strong working knowledge of securing, monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum performance levels, and planning and performing backups and disaster recovery.
- Develop effective working relationships with customers, co-workers, administration, vendors and others in order to discuss technical issues pertaining to problems, purchases or technical specifications.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
