Network Technician Requirements

As a Lumen Network Technician, you will be focused on installation and maintenance. You will be responsible for all aspects of cable repair and maintenance both copper and fiber splicing, carrier systems repair and more. Some additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the below.

• Analyzes and troubleshoots basic technical problems or issues.
• Reviews and discusses service order requirements and equipment requests with customers, evaluating customers’ telecommunications needs and suggesting additional or alternative service as appropriate.
• Uses hand tools, power tools (air and electric), and specialty tools, including electric and electronic measuring devices (e.g. multi-meters, volt-ohm meters).
• Able to accurately locate underground cables and repair cut cable of all sizes.
• Performs continuity and/or conformance testing.

Please note – if a candidate starts at a certain wage step then they are eligible for wage step increases every 6 months. Your recruiter will have more information about this.
