Installation and Repair Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

The Installation and Repair Supervisor is responsible for establishing communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment. Supervises a group of technicians and is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing them. This is an advanced level position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1) Plan network installations by studying customer orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications; order and gather equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assess installation site; prepare an installation diagram

2) Establish voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; install telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, and alarm and fire-suppression systems; build ironwork and ladder racks; establish connections; program features; establish connections and integrations; follow industry standards; activate remote access tools; coordinate with contractors

3) Verify service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identify, correct, or escalate problems

4) Document network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; record configuration diagrams and specifications

5) Maintain network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; test network back-up procedures; update documentation

6) Maintain customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns; answering questions

7) Maintain safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations

8) Plan, direct, oversee staff

WORK EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

1) Five (5) years of industry related experience preferred

2) Participate in educational opportunities; read technical publications

3) Knowledge of computers, software applications and Internet required

4) Problem solving experience in related field

5) Ability to motivate employees, set priorities, and complete tasks on time

6) Ability to effectively plan, delegate, coordinate, staff, organize and make decisions

7) Understand and comprehend industry terminology

8) Work well with and interact with customers and co-workers in a professional and ethical manner

9) Telecommunications knowledge, technical understanding, functional and technical skills, audiovisual maintenance

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1) High School diploma or equivalent

2) Read and communicate in English both verbally and written

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1) Move about, communicate/exchange information, perceive, position self, ascend/descend from ladders

2) Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without assistance

3) Ability to drive a vehicle

4) Ability to maintain the established work schedule

5) Ability to remain in stationary/standing position for long periods of time

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

1) Valid/current Oklahoma driver’s license required
