JOB TYPE: Full-time

LOCATION: VA US (Primary)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assist with site surveys in order to provide a comprehensive design plan
  • Support engineering, furnishing, installing, securing and testing of the network system
  • Support migration, installation and de-installation of the network system
  • Develop and execute detailed SOP’s and documentation in areas related to VoIP
  • Provide integration and acceptance testing
  • Provide comprehensive Tier 1- Tier 2 technical support
  • Perform upgrades and modifications
  • Maintain VoIP high availability
  • Deploy and troubleshoot VoIP handsets
  • Rack and configure voice gateways
  • Establish voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables.
  • Verify service by?testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
  • Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware. Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required. Complete all IDC?connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
  • Perform testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable; troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; use a tone set.
  • Identify active voice or data circuits.
  • Work in both new construction environments and occupied offices.
  • Document networks by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.?

1-2 years of related technician experience

  • Should be familiar with networking principles and fundamentals
  • Should be familiar with ISP and OSP cabling, including DSX patch panels, Main distribution frames for analog lines, fiber and copper patch panels and have a good knowledge base of Copper Telecom color code and Fiber Telecom color code.
  • Should be familiar with BICSI sta ndards for Telecom and infrastructure planning and design.
  • Should have knowledge of power distribution and requirements a plus (AC, DC, UPS).
