About the role
As a member of the Wireless Hardware Team, you will be based in Hullavington, England and will work within a global project team environment to deliver the electronics solution for new and pioneering connected consumer products. The role will require a highly motivated, creative, methodical, and flexible person ready to take on challenges with a balance of creative and pragmatic engineering approaches.
Responsibilities:

Develop and integrate the PCB hardware solutions for new connected projects.

Define requirements, steer design reviews, perform technical risk analysis, and lead investigations to proactively solve problems.

Perform extensive RF antenna simulation to assess the optimal antenna solution and placement for a given product integrated application.

Prove designs with detailed RF verification tests and document accordingly.

Ensure design solutions meet product specifications and functional requirements (performance, reliability, DFM, cost and compliance with international regulatory standards).

Liaise and collaborate with various Dyson engineering teams across the UK and Southeast Asia to help drive products through to mass production.

Produce detailed engineering materials including design schematics, PCB layouts, tolerance analysis, design notes, failure analysis reports, and technical review documents.

Contribute towards ongoing electronics development process improvement activities.

Build relationships with suppliers to advance novel solutions and efficient designs.
About you
You will be a self-motivated RF engineer capable of working largely unsupervised to design, develop and implement specific connectivity hardware solutions whilst working within a small team environment. Preferably you will have experience of the whole product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to high volume production and product sustainability.

Degree qualified in a relevant electronics discipline (Electronics/Telecommunication) or equivalent.

An understanding of different antenna solutions and the ability to design, prototype and test PCB antennas.

Experienced with RF simulation tools (ANSYS HFSS preferred) to support PCB antenna design, circuit analysis, tolerance analysis and documentation.

Knowledge and experience of connected consumer wireless technology including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, RFID, NFC and different antenna technologies up to 6GHz.

Knowledge of the regulatory RF testing required for low power radio products and the related test house activities necessary for radio compliance.

Working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout software such as Mentor Graphics and Altium.

Knowledge of DFM, DFA and DFT concepts.

EMC awareness.

Highly motivated, independent and self-driven with excellent communication and documentation skills.
