Communications Technician

EnerStar Solutions requires Communications Technicians (I, II or III) with experience levels that range from “entry-level” to “3+ years’ experience” for the St. Clairsville, OH area.

Selected candidate will be expected to deliver skills required to install communications and/or satellite equipment as well as monitoring equipment on remote worksite locations.

Candidate must be flexible to work long hours and weekends, some on call required. To support our OH/western PA district, some overnight travel could be required, daily travel to jobsite will be required. A company work vehicle will be supplied.

General Responsibilities include:

• Installation of wireless communications systems including LTE modems and satellite equipment, Intercoms systems, cabling, antenna and other equipment
• Installation of camera systems, monitors, radios, and other communications equipment
• Respond to service calls, test and trouble shoot issues
• Fill out work orders, inventory forms and any applicable documentation
• Understand and follow all applicable safety codes and procedures including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Translate diagrams, installation manuals, floor plans and methods of procedure into a properly installed and working product
• Ability to attach connectors to cable ends and run a variety of cable types including coaxial, LMR400 and CAT5
• At times, assist EnerStar team members with non-communications related tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to work well individually or as a team member
• Computer proficient
• Some technical skills in telecommunications, network design, cable or similar an asset
• Ability to repair electronics equipment an asset
• 1+ years of related experience an asset (ex: telecom, satellite, oilfield, remote monitoring, high technology)
• High School or equivalent, College Diploma or equivalent an asset
• Experience with Radio Frequency Cabling is an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.00 – $26.00 per hour
