In this role you will:
Be a valuable and contributing member of the surgical team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient set up of surgical instrumentation and intra-operative medications for the surgeon. The surgical technologist is also a key component of surgical efficiency and is valued for their skill and contribution to the safe outcome of orthopedic surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Duties are specific to the role and encompass the safe set up, appropriate placement of equipment of surgical fields, participates in patient positioning, patient movement, and required post case clean up and resetting of clean equipment.
- Key to the role is the active participation in the processing
- Validation of sterile instrumentation
- The surgical tech is the first line of defense in sterile technique and the employment of sterile items during the surgical procedure.
- Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
- All other duties as assigned.
About You:
- The ideal candidate will have 3 years or more of experience in orthopedics and related surgical specialties
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Graduate of a Surgical Technologist recognized training program/institution.
