Provides engineering of enterprise-wide telecommunication systems to include evaluation, design, provisioning, and implementation of appropriate technology solutions and services. Serves as an architect for new telephony systems and build out constructs. Ensures system performance, availability, and reliability of deployed technology / services delivered to the clients. Serves as an escalation point on complex technical problems and support issues providing problem diagnostic and consulting services. Formulates, documents, and communicates technical standards and procedures as required to maintain systems, network transport, peripherals, reporting systems, etc. Evaluates client requirements and defines telecommunications requirements necessary for supporting vendor personnel to render a quote and scope of work. Reviews quotes and scope of work documents for appropriateness for capital or expensed acquisitions. Provides analytical, Project management, and technical support with emphasis on voice switching and transmission facilities. Develops and updates project plans to ensure meeting required deadlines. Supervises vendor or other support personnel as required. Interfaces and coordinates install activities with selected vendors, Local Exchange Carrier, and Inter-exchange Carrier. Ensures that pertinent information is timely coordinated with appropriate internal functional areas to include other Telecommunication groups.

Experience with Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise UCCE highly preferred.

24/7 On-Call Rotation: Once every six weeks, this role requires Sunday-Sunday 24/7 on-call coverage. Applicant must be available to work on-call rotation..

“Remote Work in Ohio, Florida, or Nevada desirable” – This position is a work from home opportunity, preferably in the state of Ohio, Florida, or Nevada. Other states will be considered.


Responsibilities:

  • Provides evaluation, engineering, standards compliance, provisioning, install planning, and implementation of projects (e.g. new site, build-out activities as well as system upgrades) and/or operational practices. Interprets business needs and matches them to appropriate telecom equipment and/or applications while providing effective and economical solutions to telecom business requirements (as constrained by governing budgets).
  • Provides project budgeting estimates to include scope of work and contract reviews and recommendations.
  • Communicates production requirements for on-going maintenance and support.
  • Provides design requirements and configuration of new and/or upgraded telecommunications hardware and software.
  • Coordinates the installation of hardware, Operating System, applications software, and peripherals as required.
  • Develops and communicates technical environmental requirements related to physical space, system security, power, HVAC, etc.
  • Participates in project and change control meetings concerning the physical placement and installation of telecommunication solutions.
  • Uses a standard Project Book to document all related activities.
  • Provides for the design, planning and scheduling of integrating additional hardware, OS upgrades, or other enhancements into production systems as required to sustain a supportable product.
  • Provides project implementation schedules and monitors activities and escalates issues within the vendor support channel and/or senior management as necessary.
  • Creates documentation as needed in the support of production turn over needs, on going maintenance, and usage of voice service equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Services and/or Telecommunications, or a minimum 10 years equivalent experience.


Certifications:

  • Applicable certifications within the healthcare and information technology are preferred but not required.

  • For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of position start date.

Complexity of Work:

  • Individual must be able to work in an evolving, fast paced and challenging work environment.


Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in information systems environment to include at least 5 years of extensive hands-on support of a large multi-service environment is required.
  • Experience with large scale VoIP enabled PBX products that support over 1000 stations. Examples include Cisco, Avaya, or NEC PBXs.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise UCCE highly preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.


Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
