Technical Specialties, Inc., (TSpec) is an InformationTechnology, Consulting, and Low Voltage Company headquartered in Lanham,Maryland. We provide technical support solutions to Commercial, Federal, State, and local government sectors.

The Cabling Division of Technical Specialties, Inc., (TSpec) is currently seeking highly motivated self-starters to join our team in a low voltage cabling engineer capacity.

We are looking to hire a full-time Lead Cable Technician with experience maintaining and installing all types of copper and fiber low voltage systems. Lead Technicians are assigned company vans with gas cards. Candidate should have the ability to read drawings, manage projects, and pass background checks.

Position duties:

  • Install, terminate, test, label, and document horizontal, backbone and other cables.
  • Dress and route cable into telecommunications closet, modular furniture and other work areas.
  • Buildout MDF’s and IDF’s.
  • Cable Management
  • Installation of AV Equipment
  • Installation of Wireless Access Points
  • Cable testing and assessment surveys
  • Leading small and large projects

Experience Required:

1. Familiar with Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a installation, labeling and testing.
2. Ability to terminate RJ45 jacks and Patch Panels
3. Ability to work independently in commercial and construction environments.
4. Ability to test and certify cables with Ideal or Fluke tester
5. Ability to read floor plans
