Work Period: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday Recruitment Period: Open Until Filled

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline desired, a combination of training, work experience and education may be considered. Three to five years’ experience in network analysis, design, configuration, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting. Licenses and Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Administrator or Cisco Certified Network Professional desired. VCP-DCV, VMware Certified Professional and/or Cisco Data Center Specialist desired. Must possess a valid state driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.

Knowledge: Knowledge in developing and integrating the network communication requirements for the LAN, WAN, and WLAN environments. Strong knowledge of the following protocols: routing BGP/OSPF/VPN/Multicast; strong knowledge of Switching (VLAN, VXLAN, VPC, LAG), TCP/IP; Firewalls VPN, Access Control Lists (ACLs); Structured cabling and installation standards; Demonstrate strong understanding of network management and analysis applications. Knowledge of Microsoft active directory networks, VMware virtual infrastructure, and Cisco UCS data center hardware.

Essential Functions: Responsible for ensuring delivery of design, implementation, and support services for all aspects of server, network (wired and wireless), and voice solutions to ensure quality, timely completion, and customer satisfaction. Although the primary responsibilities involve network and voice solutions, it is critical for the individual in this position to possess strong knowledge of server (physical and virtual) infrastructure, server operating systems, firewalls, communications cabling infrastructure and carrier circuits to be successful. Designs LAN and WAN based networks utilizing both wired and wireless technologies to meet the municipal government campus (LAN), telecommunications infrastructure (VoIP), emergency response force (Mobile IP) and remote site (WAN) connectivity requirements. Configures advanced switch and router functions to include campus VLANs, port channels, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP routing for network scalability and performance. Designs, configures, implements and troubleshoots all remote WAN network connections.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $79,858.00 – $114,922.00 per year
