COLLABORATION/TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER III
REMOTE – (1-3 DAYS/MONTH ONSITE)
WORK HOURS: 7:00 A.M. – 5:45 P.M., (4) DAY WORKWEEK; (10) HOUR SHIFTS WITH ROTATING DAY OFF.
6-MONTH CONTRACT (POSSIBLE CONVERSION TO PERMANENT AFTER)
Job Summary
Under general supervision, is responsible for designing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting network, messaging, telecom, microwave, and radio technologies. Activities include planning and optimizing the telecommunications networks; conducting scheduled maintenance, diagnosing, and troubleshooting faults and undertaking repairs; monitoring of the network for alarms or conditions that may require special attention to avoid impact on the network’s performance; and managing site acquisition activities related to network, telecom, microwave, or radio infrastructure installations. Responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the networks such as LAN, WAN, WLAN and MAN. Exercises technical supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions
- Leads and coaches others on the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of complex networks, telecom, microwave, or radio infrastructure across multiple enterprise systems and platforms.
- Develops internal and external interface compatibility of the network, messaging, telecom or radio systems and multiple enterprise subsystems.
- Performs scripting by using a tool or combination of tools to automate a task or a series of tasks and understands impact across multiple enterprise systems and platforms.
- Designs, develops, and complies with Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements.
- Designs and documents new or modified network, messaging, telecom and/or radio solutions, rest activities/results, installation instructions and other areas such as error handling, across multiple enterprise systems and platforms.
- Collaborates with developers and is responsible for monitoring and oversight of development operations.
- Defines and oversees technology to implement automation and orchestration.
- Sets standards and expectations of requirements gathering relative to network, messaging, microwave, telecom, or radio frequency systems and understands impact across multiple enterprise systems and platforms.
- Leads the technical evaluation and selection process for improving network performance by overseeing and participating in gap analysis studies, identifying feasible alternative solutions, recommending and/or approving the scope of modifications, and validating metrics and key performance indicators.
- Leads the development and testing of capacity planning models and load-balancing and redundancy solutions using a variety of techniques to monitor networks, sites, hand-held radios, interference, and other events.
- Manages site acquisition activities related to network infrastructure installations.
- Leads short- and long-term planning efforts with management across multiple enterprise systems and platforms.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Seven (7) years of relevant networking experience
- Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Seven (7) years of experience with Cisco CUCM.
- Seven (7) years of experience with Cisco UCCX.
- Seven (7) years of experience with Cisco CUCxN.
- Five (5) years of experience with Cisco CER.
- Two (2) years of experience with Cisco Webex Contact Center.
- Five (5) years of experience with Variphy.
- Five (5) years of experience with SecureLogix.
- Five (5) years of experience with Cisco Video Conferencing.
- Five (5) year of experience with Cisco Webex / Webex Events.
