What you’ll be doing…

As the Network Assurance Manager, you will manage a team of 13-20 Network Assurance Field Engineers in the Sacramento and Stockton Areas of California. You will be responsible for assuring day-to-day network performance and reliability to achieve the best customer experience in the market. This includes the training and continued development of the workforce as well as organizing and scheduling the resources necessary to support a broad range of network elements. This also includes the timely installation and maintenance of transport facilities, software translations, hardware/software upgrades, router/switch upgrades, IP configurations, RAN Antenna Performance and Interference troubleshooting, Cell Site Call Testing, and Site Activations in the designated market regions. Equipment that this position is responsible for includes but is not limited to 5G UWB, LTE, IBR/DAS, RRH, Small Cells, EPDR assets, IP infrastructure, routers, switches, voice mail services, EBH, microwave, ADM’s, DACS, MSPP, and AC/DC Power Equipment.

You will:

  • Lead and supervise the Field Assurance Engineers. Activities that will need to be directed include responsibilities associated with the proper integration, activation, maintenance, and ongoing operations of all core RF, transport/backhaul, and data elements as well as the physical plant necessary to deliver on our network reliability brand promise.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of all technologies necessary to expand and evolve the network to meet customer demand for new and improved service offerings. This includes timely support of capital and expense projects while delivering on financial targets/goals.
  • Effectively interface and support all other local departments in the organization, such as Construction, RF, Performance, Engineering, and Facilities on a daily basis to ensure growth schedules are being met.
  • Effectively interact with HQ organizations such as NRB, NMC, Compliance, and NNO Engineering and Operations. Ensure the security, safety, and environmental compliance of systems and facilities are in accordance with corporate guidelines. Strong interpersonal communication skills are required.

What we’re looking for…

You’ll need to have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to work rotating schedule (shifts) including nights, weekends based on the needs of the business.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Even better if you have the following:

  • A master’s degree.
  • Prior leadership, project management, engineering, or other Verizon network experience.
  • Experience in networking including IP addressing, routing, and Ethernet switching.
  • Knowledge of call flow for a voice and/or data session describing network elements from cell to Internet.
  • Knowledge of wireless cell site base station, router, and antenna equipment.
  • Experience and knowledge in the use of circuit and RAN test equipment and network monitoring applications.
  • Six or more years of experience in one or more of the following fields; wireless networks, telecommunications, radio communications, IP networks with two or more years of managerial/leadership experience.
  • Service provider experience in MSC and/or Cell Operations and Maintenance.
  • Experience with ALU/Nokia, Samsung, Ericsson, Motorola, or Nortel platforms.
  • Leadership, managerial, and administrative skills.
  • Knowledge of radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, electronic theory, and applications.
  • Experience and knowledge of Transmission facilities and network protocols (IP, Ethernet Backhaul, Dark Fiber).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and retain a positive attitude – openness to different viewpoints and ability to learn new skills and concepts as our network transforms.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and teaching skills.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

If you are hired into a California work location, the compensation range for this position is between $116,000 and $215,000 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
