The SDNET Technical Project Manager is responsible for the management of one highly complex or enterprise-wide project, consisting of multiple SDNET deliverables across the a few Data centers in US region. Responsible for comprehensive Technical Project Planning, WBS timeline development, and managing the delivering and supporting of customer software defined networks cutover on the Software Defined Networking platform. The Project Manager will the Technical Lead with deep past experience with SDNET project management as the Senior Project Manager. The SDNET PM is responsible for orchestration and assurance of daily activities, tasks, deliverables and fully completed and managing, prioritizing and aligning the work across the Data centers to meet the SDNET timeline. The SDNET PM will be the first level of escalation for the ongoing projects and will guide project team with technical direction and guidance to complete tasks.

SDNET Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Resolving conflicting priorities that will otherwise result in SDNET work not being completed on time.
  • Acting as the primary point of escalation for DC related issues and liaising between the programme’s build and migration teams and proximity services and associated vendors.
  • Facilitate receipting of deliveries, ensuring SDNET deliveries are tracked and secured until they are needed.
  • Programme reporting on build and migration readiness. Daily updates provided on the build and migration workstream stand-ups. Weekly report submission.
  • Point of contact for vendors e.g. Resolving access questions and issues relating to the DCs. Coordinating across client teams, vendors and JLL teams as required for work relating to the DC.
  • Reviewing the pipeline of work against the PS team resource plan to ensure work tracks to plan, from build out through to migration and ultimately decommissioning
  • Tracking weekend readiness e.g. Ensuring the related and critical work requests are completed ahead of the weekend and that any additional resources are secured. Looking ahead to upcoming work.
  • Available at weekends to help resolve critical DC/PS issues that surface during migration/cutover that put service at risk.
  • Regular on-site presence, eyes on the ground, early warning, being alert to imminent issues
  • Accountable for ensuring there are plans or agreed exceptions in place for each of the CIs listed as in scope for the Data Centres they are aligned to. This will involve supporting the effort to find owners for the CIs that are without a plan. Each DC Controller will be nominally aligned to two DCs.
  • Acting as “Application Controller” for specific shared infra e.g. nlyte
  • Coordinating physical audits to plug gaps in existing data e.g. gaps in nlyte elevations, cable tracing when server NICs cannot be automatically mapped to switches, identifying racks where new ToR switches cannot co-exist with the existing ToR switches.
  • Perform project planning within organization’s and Asset Management.
  • Gather project scope and requirements and proactively and consistently validate and adjust timeline if needed against client new target.
  • Understand SDNET and Network technologies used to be effective in coordinating with IT teams across multiple Data Centers.
  • Develop SDNET detailed project plans for each Data Center with schedules for each assigned project (typical project activities may include requirement gathering, design and specifications for budgeting, procurement, delivery, staging, shipping, deploying and testing of various technologies and related equipment)
  • Work closely across various IT teams to monitor project milestones and critical paths to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule.
  • Identify ways to resolve schedule issues.
  • Produce project status reports for the SDNET Program Manager, client or JLL management.
  • Identify potential risks and develops preventive plans for procedural activities.
  • Involve the key players in identifying operating needs, issues and solutions.
  • Review customer business requirements and determine where support is needed relative to existing technical systems design
  • Coordinate effective workflows and processes with one or more vendor and/or alliance partners.
  • Take personal responsibility and accountability for timely response to client queries, requests or needs, working to remove obstacles that may impede execution or overall success and operationalization
  • Take personal ownership and accountability to meet deadlines and achieve agreed-upon results
  • Participate in supporting SMEs to complete project activities or tasks when there is risk or potential impact
  • Collaborate with other team members and contribute productively to the team’s work and output, demonstrating respect for different points of view.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have demonstrable past experience in the above PM responsibilities.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10 Years of IT DC Infrastructure or Network operation experience
  • 5+ years of experience of executing IT Infrastructure and facility projects utilizing multiple technologies and frameworks. Specially network infrastructure
  • 5+ years of project management experience in SDNET planning, executing, and monitoring in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Experience researching, investigating, evaluating, and qualifying new vendor solutions.
  • Knowledge of provisions network service configuration in the Software Defined Networking (SDN) Service platform for services such as Firewall, NAT/PAT, QoS, DHCP, Traffic Steering, BGP, Static Routes, Wireless Backup, Hybrid WAN, High Availability, LAN and WAN interfaces
  • Working experience with building architects and contractors in a regional setting.
  • Basic knowledge and ability to orchestrate troubleshooting IP and Network Security issues including routing, performance, connectivity, access, network address translation, access control lists/firewall rules, and network management protocols (DHCP, DNS, etc.).
  • Ability to understand and analyzes network performance metrics and identifies service affecting root causes to customer chronic and systemic issues.
  • Knowledge of CM process to drive the execution of Change of Service requests through the SDN Service platform. Validates functionality after changes made to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Experience with technical reporting and management tools such as ServiceNow Remedy, Clarity, and Crystal Reports. Carrigo will be plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a multinational team environment and build effective working relations with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Experience with prioritizing conflicting demands in high-pressure and time-critical situations
  • Certification Requirements: PMP Required or similar training
  • Advanced knowledge with broad array of SDNET and Network IT Infrastructure components and terminology, including hardware, Operating Systems, network, telecommunications
  • Advanced knowledge of Network Computing, Facility Management, data/voice cabling, servers, network equipment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and remain flexible in an environment of constantly changing priorities.

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and travel within the US
