Tower Climber Technician

Salary: $17/hour with room to grow

Description:

The Tower Climber Technician is responsible for assisting the Tower Manager in accomplishing tasks. Working safely and efficiently are the top priorities. The Tower Climber Technician must be able to work effectively at elevated heights and must push information from daily operations up to the Tower Manager, carrying directions through to completion.

Responsibilities:

• Installing and repairing wireless, fiber optic and electronic data systems
• Maintain, install, and decommission tower components
• Install and uninstall transmission lines, connectors, antenna, and accessories.
• Troubleshooting computer networking systems
• Perform grounding, terminations, fastening, proper bolting and antioxidant use, support of leads.
• Maintain documentation of work performed
• Follow all state and federal safety regulations (OSHA, local turf vendor, etc.) while working in an efficient and productive manner
• Remaining certified to conduct tower climbing and rescue operations
• Must be reachable and able to respond to network emergencies at all times when on call
• Perform other duties as required by the Tower Manager
• Travel when required (no overnight travel required)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
• Must be able to transfer 130 lbs. with the help of another person, a distance of 12 feet
• Must be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions
• Must be able to work alone comfortably and efficiently at elevated heights
