Low Voltage Foreman/Lead Installer
The Low Voltage Foreman/Lead Installer provides leadership by example through the performance, supervision and direction of skilled infrastructure installation, service and maintenance, repair and alteration of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, audio-visual, and other various low voltage cabling systems.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise and perform installation and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment and other various low voltage related systems such as Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6, and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems.
- Complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathway systems (cable tray), move equipment, racks, and related communications infrastructure materials, while following NetTel and industry best practices.
- Oversee on-site project work activity, including field operations, and reports on progress, issues, and overall status to the project manager, achieving quality and timeline standards.
- Serve as technical training advisor and lead low voltage technician for NetTel Team.
- Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot cabling infrastructure systems, and perform repairs as necessary.
- Consult with Estimation and Sales (E&S) to review BOMs for materials and labor.
- Consult with E&S RCDD on infrastructure survey and design.
- Execute project milestones and test plans.
- Monitor and assess team adherence to NetTel quality and safety guidelines.
- Assist PM with in-field SOW and scope management on project and service requests.
- Engage in internal planning and conversations with E&S, PC’s, PMs, and Operations Managers.
- Communication and reporting of daily activity completed for ConnectWise time entries, project task logs, and assessment of task completion relative to project timeline and time budget.
- Conduct client conversation regarding service requests and projects requirements.
- Ensure on-time delivery of Test Results, As-Built, Pictures, and Quality Audits to PMs for project closeout deliverable packages.
- Travel to jobsite to periodically audit team performance, team development opportunities and assess customer satisfaction.
- Represent NetTel in client meetings to ensure that all parties are consistently updated on work progress and client expectations are being met.
- Maintain an organized work environment, setting *the* example for orderliness and cleanliness of the shop, job sites, and company vehicles.
Education Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or Certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Experience Requirements:
- Experience installing, servicing, and maintaining low voltage cable infrastructure systems such as Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems and/or Infrastructure Technician role (or similar experience).
- Consistent track record of exemplary workmanship, professionalism, and leadership.
Other Qualifications, Skills & Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license (REQUIRED)
- Proven ability to install, terminate, test, and certify low voltage cables to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable and fiber optic cable (single and multi-mode). (REQUIRED)
- Ability to understand and install cable pathways, conveyances (e.g., ladder, trays, support systems). (REQUIRED)
- Knowledge of through-wall penetration systems. (REQUIRED)
- Ability to carry up to 30 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs. (REQUIRED)
- Ability to climb ladders and work from heights. (REQUIRED)

Competencies
- Ability to communicate well and represent NetTel in client meetings and interactions.
- Advanced knowledge of terminology pertaining to installation & service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security & wireless systems.
- Advanced knowledge of industry standards including BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and National Electric Code.
- Advanced knowledge of publications pertaining to standard cabling for telecom, data, security & wireless systems practices, engineering & Federal, State & local safety standards.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
- Proven ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable, single mode & multi-mode fiber optical cables.
- Knowledge of telecommunication, data network, cabling and /or connectivity, desktop/server hardware and software with regards to configurations, trouble shooting and basic programming.
- Industry and manufacturer specific experience and/or certifications preferred (examples: BICSI, Panduit, Commscope, Siemens, Corning, Leviton, Ortronics, AV, Fiber Optic, Paging, etc.).
- Working knowledge of industry standards including BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and National Electric Code.
- When required, healthcare specific certifications and experience (examples: infectious control, safety, bloodborne pathogens certifications, etc.
- Comprehension of publications pertaining to standard cabling for telecom, data, security & wireless systems practices, engineering & Federal, State & local safety standards.
- Strong customer/client service orientation with effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
- Proven skills in reliability and dependability demonstrated through completing tasks on time and with minimal supervision, punctual and present for work, informing appropriate individuals when work will not be completed in agreed upon time frame.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to operate company vehicles safely and professionally.

Pay: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour
