RJE Telecom is seeking an experienced telecommunication Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer for the Winchester, VA area. The OSP Engineer is responsible for designing outside plant work orders and provide necessary field and administrative support. We are looking for candidates with knowledge of current Verizon systems.

This is a position that requires field work, so the candidate must reside or have plans to relocate to the Winchester, VA area.

What you’ll do…
  • You will design outside plant work orders
  • You will provide administrative and field support to the outside plant provisioning process
  • You will be responsible for coordinating field work
  • You will prepare work order drawings, documentation, and update work order records in an accurate and timely manner
  • You will provide work order estimated expenditures and/or placement and joint use memos
  • All other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications:


Who we are looking for…
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You have advanced knowledge of outside plant design
  • You are familiar with the various communications outside plant engineering concepts (e.g. copper cable, fiber optic cable and coax cable)
  • You are able to utilize facility analysis process to select areas for rehabilitation
  • You have knowledge of telephone industry standards, accessing, reading and interpreting mechanized assignment records
  • You are able to understand infrastructure plans and survey information for the elimination and prevention of conflicts with existing or proposed underground, site obstacles, and for proper installation location within easements and public rights of way
  • You have knowledge of PC software package tools, including word processing (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point). OSP record and/or computer aided drafting systems
  • You are able to interact with all on-line computer systems that Verizon requires
  • You are knowledgeable with respect to all municipal and governmental requirements for all work performed
