OSP Field Engineer

MOUNTAIN, LTD. has an opening for an OSP Field Engineer working in the Ellensburg, WA area!

Responsibilities:

• Identify all OSP infrastructure that isn’t captured on prints.
• Walkout of existing plant for a large provider in the area.
• Field engineer will be provided with a PDF export of the client’s existing facilities and perform a walkout to validate underground span footages, and aerial span footage (walkout of existing spans as listed on the prints to confirm/upgrade length, & make/model of all equipment (taps, amplifiers, power supplies, and nodes)
• Engineer to field validate all cables and specifically validate the correct type of cable correlates to the map by span
• If any area is found during the walkout phase that consists of constructed plant that is missing from the records provided pre-walkout will be as-built drafted onto the PDF and includes
  • Parcels
  • Streets
  • Lot Lines
  • Addresses
  • All Network Equipment – Passives, Actives, Nodes, Power Supplies, Cables, Snow Shoes/Storage Loops, Riser Locations, Aerial Pole Locations w/ Strand Connectivity, Pedestals
  • All Drop routing information
• All data will be collected from the ground.

Qualifications:

• Previous OSP fieldwork experience
• Ability to accurately and clearly notate documentation provided and report findings
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Knowledge of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Standards
