Overview of The Role :
The Analyst, IT Network & Telecommunication works with a team who’s responsible for overseeing system installations, as well as monitoring and maintaining the organisation’s servers and evaluating new server hardware and software.
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:
- Participate in the planning, design, configuration and deployment of company LANs, WANs, Voice and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, UPSs, PDUs and other hardware to ensure that the network meets company performance and availability requirements
- Daily operational maintenance of existing network infrastructure. (SDWAN, ZScaler, Infoblox, ISE, Wireless, Solarwinds, etc.)
- Design, plan and troubleshoot network related problems in an enterprise environment with expertise in Cisco Routers, Switches, NGFW, Intrusion Prevention (IPS) and web filtering
- Liaise with vendors for new hardware and software acquisitions and keep appropriate maintenance agreements current and effective
- Work with global and regional teams to deliver IT or business projects
- Provide expert advice to other initiatives relying on network & infrastructure services
- Play a key role in maturing the network systems in the areas of routing, switching, security, collaboration, wireless, physical data center standards and monitoring systems
- Collaborate and coordinate on a daily basis with other IT teams to deliver on new projects
- Perform system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting and escalating issues, including proactive problem resolution and complex problem analysis as necessary, to maintain system performance to meet user demand
- Reduce operational risk and improve availability of the overall infrastructure by ensuring access, monitoring, control, evaluation and documentation practices are maintained and adhered to
- Evaluate new system hardware and solutions and monitor the market for emerging technology
- Collect and analyze operational data (especially incident and change records) to identify emerging trends and log problem records to assist with problem resolution and increased network availability
You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:
- College diploma in the field of Computer Science or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of equivalent work experience in a network position
- CCNP is preferred or equal experience
- Deep experience with Routing & Switching
- Strong working knowledge of network/internet Protocols/Services such as TCP/IP stack, Ethernet, BGP, OSPF EIGRP, QOS, DHCP, IPAM
- Expertise with Cisco ISR routers, Cat 9xxx, 3850’s, 4500’s, Nexus 9k, NGFW
- Familiarity with operation, management and fault diagnosis of real time transaction processing systems
- Knowledge of WIFI, Dot1x, Web proxy, and other network security infrastructure/monitoring tools
- SDWAN expertise would be an asset
- Must know when to ask for assistance, and when to provide assistance collaboratively
- Must be approachable, teachable, and a team player with a strong desire to continue learning and expanding their experience in a highly evolving environment
- Experience with network asset management, including maintenance of network components, inventory and related documentation
- Customer-centric
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to work beyond core business hours / on call, if necessary to minimize business interruption during planned or unplanned network/system modifications
- Excellent time-management to handle a heavy workload at various time of the year and project lifecycle
- Available for occasional travel as required
