As a Network Engineer, you will report to the Infrastructure Manager and be responsible for maintaining and administering our company’s computer networks. Primary duties include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary.
Responsibilities for the Network Engineer role:
- You will maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
- Replace faulty network hardware components when required.
- Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
- You will maintain, configure, and monitor virus protection software and email applications.
- Monitor network performances to determine if adjustments need to be made.
- Confer with network users about solving existing system problems.
- Coordinate computer network access and use.
- Design, configure, and test networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software.
Requirements for the Network Engineer role:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field of study.
- 3+ years of IT experience in a network engineering role
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network security, LAN & WAN experience, preferably with Cisco and or Palo Alto.
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
- Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
- High organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple priorities.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S. to meet Export Control requirements.
