THE POSITION

The Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Delivery Center provides end-to-end IT services to all staff in the Department of Human Services (DHS), the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA). Your IT, communication, and time management skills will be used to support a myriad of program areas throughout the district. This position runs the gamut of hardware, software and networking processes, and everything in between. If you like working with a high degree of independence while accomplishing your tasks, this is for you.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This a technical position which supports all program areas within the Health & Human Services Delivery Center (HHS DC). Primary responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining workstations, printers and MFDs within a network environment, software installation, account maintenance, updating of inventory and overall end user support. Occasional travel within district operations is required.

This is a highly visible position and is the first point of contact for end users. Effective communication and customer service skills along with successful resolution of problems and assignments are critical. This position has a high degree of independence so effective time management is needed as will your ability to be organized.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 60-minute lunch;
    May change based on operation needs.

  • Telework:
    You may be expected to work from home (telework) but may be required to come into the office as often as 2-3 days a week, this telework policy could change requiring you come in the office daily at the office at the Scranton State Office Building. For telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed Internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the office.

    Although this is a telework position, you will be required to come to the office to pick up your equipment and then as necessary. Other reasons for coming into the office include: changes to the current telework that would require staff to come into the office, to attend training, mandatory meetings or on an ad hoc basis. Your supervisor will give you at least a 24 hour notice and all travel will be at your own expense. Parking is located at the building and is free.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment; or
  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or
  • Successful completion of the Information Technology Intern – Bachelor Program; or
  • One year of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience providing information technology support services including hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance within a network environment.
