The Telecom and Security Solutions Consultant is a selling consultant for telecommunications and security hardware equipment. The Telecom and Security Solutions Consultant collaborates with other account managers, sales engineers, and the Solutions Director to determine the solutions that best fit the client’s needs. They will also develop opportunities with existing clients that do not currently utilize the telecom/security services we offer.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify opportunities for telecom equipment, cabling, security hardware
- Collaborate on meetings to identify opportunities through qualifying questions and assessments
- Use sales activities & database management to reach communicate and track project results: phone calls, solution collaboration presentations, proposals, implementation of solutions and account reviews
- Collaborate with sales professionals and engineers to develop/propose solutions
- Work closely with operations to track shipments and implementation
- Attend and participate in development seminars and company meetings to develop professional skills, business acumen and certifications
- Utilize resources and apply learning to teach and tailor technology solutions to client environment
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in business or other related field
- Previous business-to-business sales experience
- Previous experience in the telecom field preferred
- Background in sales, telecommunications, and security preferred
- High Integrity and strives for accuracy
- Possesses basic business acumen
- Personal drive and internal motivation toward high achievement
- Committed to personal development in order to stay up to date on market trends and impacts
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment

- Excellent communication & listener (oral and written and presentation skills)

- Must work well under pressure
- Proficiency using MS Office, e.g., PowerPoint, Excel and Word and the internet for research, e.g., Google, LinkedIn, Connectwise
- Must be flexible in break and lunch periods depending on work-flow
- This is an 8am to 5pm position with the potential to go outside of these hours to meet projects deadlines
