We have an opening for a Manager, Telecommunications where you will be responsible for the oversight of technical, project financial and schedule of Alberta’s Telecommunications project portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the department financial (profit/loss) and income statement of department 115
- Accountability and management of concurrent project budgets and schedules for successful delivery” on-time” and “on-budget” while maintain a high degree of quality and mitigating risks for clients and Primary
- Develop, modify and improve Telecommunications procedures/processes as required
- Assist and provide input into overall department direction supporting other Managers and Vice President
- Responsible for the employee development, staffing requirements and performance monitoring
- Sales and procurement of new Telecommunication clients and business lines
- Off-site meetings and site checks as required
- Incorporate corporate safety mandates in all Telecommunication projects
- Analyze and produce financial and schedule reporting for projects
- Proactively consult and developed solutions for clients to suit their business needs
- Technical mentorship and development of Junior Engineers, Technologist and Drafting staff
- Collaboration with and supporting other Primary offices
- Being part of a great team and shaping the future of the industry
- Other duties as directed by the VP or director.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in design and cost estimating of telecom projects
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to develop business relationships
- Strong collaborative skills and willingness to liaise with other disciplines (marketing, drafting, construction, survey, and civil) to ensure projects are accurate, compliant, on-time and on-budget
- A proven history of team management & team building.
- A passion for your work and a drive for excellence.
- Commitment to safety and ethical practices.
- Engineering Technology Diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized college or university would be an asset
- Class 5 full driver’s license
A few qualifications that would help you succeed:
- Professional Engineer designation would be an asset
- Experience working with telecoms civil and aerial structure designs to SHAW standards
- Experience working with AutoCAD design
- Experience with survey equipment and field data collection
