Fiber Project Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Design of new conduit routes for Fiber Optic Utility Companies from existing infrastructure to proposed destination in public ROW and private property
• Engineer and perform Fiber Optic Network Designs
• Design of existing Fiber Optic Facilities within the public for permanent or temporary relocation in the public ROW
• Perform site walks with client and document existing site conditions for new fiber and equipment installations
• Attend meetings with and on behalf of Client for new projects with local Department of Transportation
• Review final construction plans
• Manage junior engineers
• Minimal travel required

Qualifications:

• B.S. Engineering or B.S. Engineering Technology required.
• PE required.
• 4 to 10 years of engineering experience
• OSP Fiber experience preferred
• AutoCAD required and Civil 3D preferred
• Industry knowledge and technology trends preferred
• Understanding in the principles of the following knowledge area: transportation, civil (grading and site analysis), structural, and geotechnical
• Ability to research and apply applicable codes, design guides, and standards for projects
• Utility experience preferred
• Knowledge of aerial make ready
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Competency in reading and deciphering construction drawings
• Ability to research and draw upon engineering knowledge to yield feasible and creative solutions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year

Supplemental pay types:

• Telecom / Wireless: 3 years (Preferred)
• Fiber: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Professional Engineer (Required)
