Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pull and route structured low voltage cable in a commercial environment.
  • Termination of wiring. (Cat 5e/6/6A, Coax, Fiber)
  • Dress and terminate distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels)
  • Implement and maintain structured cabling solutions
  • Test and label all wire runs
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Install and mount IP devices that connect into the network (Wireless AP, Cameras, speakers, etc.)
  • Install and mount DAS Antennas
  • Install support structures for solutions (Racks, J-Hooks, conduits, etc.)
  • System documentation to include system reviews and recommendations

Minimum Requirements

  • Own basic telecom tools: punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill,
  • Dependable transportation to changing job sites
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephone skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care
  • Ability to diagnose technical issues
  • Able to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
  • Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Experience

Pay Rate:

$20 – $40/hour depending on experience

Job Summary:

The Low Voltage Wiring Technician is responsible for all onsite delivery, implementation, service and support of wiring needs for our customers. This relates to all low voltage wiring technology, to include: Category 5e, Category 6, Category 6A, Fiber Optic Cable, Coax Cable, Phone lines, and Multimedia wiring.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $40.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Low voltage: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Commercial construction: 1 year (Preferred)
