Network Engineer (Remote)

Essential Functions:

• Perform network migration using Cisco 540 router
• Meet QOS standards for network elements, response times and fault isolation
• Work during maintenance windows to perform systems migration
• Supporting the deployment of Cell Site Routers (CSRs)
• Work with customer’s field engineers for Device turn-up

Other Functions:

• Troubleshooting ZTP and device activation in-field issues
• Troubleshooting assistance on circuit issues at the time of turn-up, RU/DU L1-3 integration, RAN activation issues and PTP sync issues
• Assisting CSR DOA RMA for GC to replacement
• Report generation for presentation to customers
• Take on specific request to assist customers
• Work with peers to synchronize technical support activities
• Discuss with customer any foreseeable activities requiring additional assistance
• Exercise strong analytical skills to debug, and resolve complex software problems
• Must have Cisco IOS-XR, ISIS, EIGRP experience
• Must have Telecom experience

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Must be based in the USA
• Must have Availability during Maintenance Windows
• Engineer must maintain work environment, network connection and phone
• Coverage will be seven (7) days a week (Monday thru Sunday) Mountain Time as per the following: –
• 5 out of 11 will work Sunday to Thursday
• 6 out of 11 will work Tuesday to Saturday

Education/Experience and Competencies:

• BS degree desired
• Cisco 540 router experience is strongly desired
• Service Provider experience is required, enterprise level experience will not be considered
• Understand network platform migration
• Ability to perform under strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, routing protocols, VLAN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF
• Direct telecommunications industry hands on experience
• Proven strong troubleshooting skills in a remote technical support role
• Ability to read MOP and work on the same
• Strong teamwork, good communication and documentation skills;
• Availability for shift work per the schedule is required
