OSP Hydro Vac Operator

Reporting to the OSP Manager, the Hydro Vac Operator is primarily responsible for running a Hydro Vac truck, working in a safe manner and assisting the entire crew to ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost effective manner.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to company policies, procedures and OSHA safety standards.
• Comply with construction codes and standards.
• Perform work in a quality and efficient manner.
• Demonstrate willingness for continuous self-improvement.
• Assist Foreman in ensuring jobs are brought in on time.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment prior to and after use, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure to ensure their safe and proper operation.
• Drive trucks and equipment to job sites.
• Perform on call duties as required
• Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position

Qualifications

• Prior vacuum truck or trailer unit experience is preferred, including working knowledge of hand and various power tools.
• Ability to read and understand prints, maps and construction plans.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Some out of town travel and occasional night work may be required.
• Valid CDL (including air brake with tanker endorsement) is required, along with a medical card.
• Must maintain a good driver’s record and be insurable
