Coax and Fiber technicians will splice fiber optic cables in the air, underground, and in commercial buildings.

Duties:

• Must be able to pull cable through commercial buildings.
• Set up splice locations, termination points and general fiber optic construction
• Fuse fiber optic cables in a production environment for small to large projects
• Test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks for acceptance testing, trouble identification and fiber characterization
• Use of headend test equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Associates degree in electronics or equivalent field preferred
• Previous work experience in the telecommunications field
• Must possess time management skills and meet deadlines
• Must be computer savvy and be able to use specialized programs and databases
• Must be analytical, able to exercise good judgment, field safety and apply logical reasoning in seeking solutions to problems
• Ability to learn new technologies as needed to support future systems
• Must have current unrestricted driver’s license and dot med card. (If you do not have a DOT card, you will be expected to obtain one before starting your employment)
