OSP Drill Operator/Locator

The OSP Drill Operator/Locator is responsible for operating ditch witch and/or Vermeer drills as well as locate the directional drills path installation of innerduct for underground fiber optic construction.

Responsibilities

· Place duct and fiber optic cable utilizing directional drilling and additional equipment, including excavators, backhoes, cable blowing and pulling equipment

· Complete drilling logs

· Maintain a clean work site to include all equipment

· Inspect vehicles and equipment prior to use, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure, to ensure their safe and proper operation

· Drive trucks and equipment to job sites

· Perform on call duties as required

· Occasional out of town work may be required

Qualifications

-Ability operate a Vermeer/Ditch Witch Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD)

-Valid Class A CDL is highly preferred. Also, must be insurable

-Must maintain a DOT Medical Card (FedMed card)

-Able to read and understand OSP construction prints, maps and plans

-Ability to work with limited supervision, in a safe and efficient manner

-Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions

-Ability to lift up to 75lbs occasionally

-Ability to operate heavy construction equipment

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
