Department Manager
The department Manager is responsible for the safety, quality, financial, production, schedule, vendor management/invoice approval, crew management/timesheet approval, site expectation setting, close out aggregation/dissemination per market project timeline requirements, Descending balance sheets, and customer satisfaction performance of their teams’ assigned projects. While leading and growing the team towards Cannon’s growth and financial goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop winning Construction strategies and plans. Using SWOT and SPC (Strategic Planning Cycle)
- Develop and manage safety, quality, financials, production, schedule, inventory, resource, and customer satisfaction objectives as it relates to the construction phase assigned projects.
- Execute and manage a full cycle construction team.
- Supervise team of Construction Project Managers, PM Leads, Project Managers, & Coordinators.
- Set and align the department with financial and growth goals. (Including budgets, inventory, staffing needs, safety, integrity, teamwork, productivity, employee engagement, and business growth opportunities.)
- Provide WIP, Cost/Rev analysis, and growth reporting to Senior leadership team.
- Collaborate with Permitting, engineering, supply change, and department managers.
- Ensure all pass-through & descending material costs are accounted for.
- Monitor safety, quality, and schedule during construction.
- Track, monitor, and accountability for all financial costs and forecasts. (Cost Revenue job analysis)
- Analyze track and monitor staffing needs of the department needed for growth and financial goals.
- Participate in meetings with senior operations management, peers and/or customers.
- Identify and onboard subcontractors needed to support and facilitate the needs of the Company.

- Maintain a construction forecast & WIP (Work in progress) for self and team.
- Prepare reporting for direct leadership,
- Accountable to completion of project goals by ensuring project tasks and client deliverables are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, scope, and budget parameter.
- Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
- Prepare and complete action plans, implement production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
- Resolve problems, complete audits, and identify trends.
- Determine operational improvements and assist in implementing change.
- Develop and build relationships with Sub’s, identify and assist on-boarding new Sub’s
